"Dr. Timothy Carter was recommended by my cardiologist. When I met Dr. Carter, he was direct, honest explained in detail about mitral valve regurgitation. He explained that he would like to do a repair but won’t know until he goes in, and if it was worse... There was a possibility of replacement and what my options would be.
I was concerned of my decline and he changed the schedule to push up my surgery. He checked on me after surgery and was on top of my care. The scars are really minimal.
He is very professional but treated me as a person and made sure every one of my questions was answered. Bedside manner was sincere and kind. His assistant Courtney always made herself available and was very thorough as well."

"I had a stenotic bicuspid aortic valve that needed replacement. I was 58 years old. Dr. Carter was great from our first consult in October 2020 until this year at one of my follow-up visits. He explained all options, with pros and cons, and listens to all questions. He never rushed me. I decided on the Ross procedure. I was frustrated in the hospital post-op with typical complications, and he always made time for me.
It is coming up on my 2-year anniversary, and I feel great. Better than before the surgery, and all my cardiology check-ups are great.
Dr. Carter was also a consult with my sister who had had an aortic valve repair as a teenager, tissue valve at 40, mechanical valve at 50, and then serious bleeding complications from the blood thinners at 55. That is when Dr. Carter stepped in and recommended the Ross, but sent her to Dr. El-Hamamsy in New York City who has done over 600 Ross procedures.
Dr. Carter truly cares about each of his patients, and looks at each patient individually."
